Marcel Rohner joined Active Alpha as non-executive Vice Chairman in 2010.
Marcel Rohner is the founder and owner of a private investment company and holds various board mandates in non-public financial services and industrial firms.
Until February 2009, Marcel Rohner was the Chief Executive Officer of UBS, one of the largest banks globally. Before becoming Group CEO in 2007, he was the CEO of UBS Wealth Management & Business Banking from 2002 (additionally named Chairman in 2004). In 2006, he was appointed Deputy Group CEO.
From 1999 to 2001, Marcel Rohner held the position of Group Chief Risk Officer at UBS. Before taking on this role, he was the Head of Market Risk Control at SBC (which merged into UBS). He joined the investment banking division of SBC in 1993.
Until February 2009, he served as Vice Chairman of the Swiss Bankers Association and Vice Chairman of the Foundation Board of the Swiss Finance Institute.
He graduated with a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Zurich.
